Tanya Leah – Roses For Panjo
The “Roses For Panjo” project was created by acclaimed songwriter, Tanya Leah, in the year after Tanya’s dad, (musician/sculptor Ira “Panjo” Wollen), suffered a debilitating stroke that left him paralyzed. The songs that became the album, “Somewhere Beautiful”, were written from a place of pure love and intention, with the hope that the music would soothe him and take his mind to a happier place.
Tanya Leah, though not a household name, has long been a well-respected songwriter in the Nashville and NY music scenes, and has written songs over the years that have been recorded by many other, more well-known artists.
This project brings her out front as the lead vocalist. She is also the album’s producer and plays a number of instruments (ukulele, guitar, piano, and more). The music was brought to life with a little help from some of her friends (who are a veritable who’s who of amazing musical talent). Some of the players include Everett Bradley (Bruce Springsteen, Meredith Vieira Show bandleader), Caitlin Evanson (Taylor Swift, Ringo Starr), Zev Katz (Suzanne Vega, Hall and Oates), Conrad Korsch (Rod Stewart), and many others…
The music defies easy genre categorization, but is timeless and classic, and appeals to young and old alike.

“Who doesn’t need to get away and go ‘somewhere beautiful?’ We all do. And with Tanya Leah’s music, we all can.”
~ Ilene Angel (The Huffington Post)
“The music itself is soothing, pretty, bright, and warm, a very real artistic incarnation of genuine love. Threaded throughout the record are reassuring communications from Leah to the wounded of the world, her heartfelt attempt to bring beauty where there may be none – yet.”
~ Sean McCauley (Mondotunes)
“These songs sing with the kind of exquisite sophistication that can only live in the simplest and truest things. Tanya’s beautiful tapestries of melodies and words are greater than the sum of their parts and make me forgive my own humanity. So this is what it feels like not to have to strive for joy – but to just be joy!”
~ Terah Cox (author of “The Story of Love and Truth”)
“A collection of gorgeous, smart, heartfelt songs. This is what hope and a lifetime of love sound like.”
